For a New York City co-op or condo, request the building’s current vendor instructions before choosing a cleaning window. Send the exact insurance wording to the provider, reserve any required service elevator, and obtain an access contact. Treat insurance review, elevator permission and apartment entry as three separate confirmations.
That’s the whole of it. If you’d rather have someone else keep it up, tell us about your place and we’ll send a price for it — nothing is booked until you say so.
Get the building’s version, not a neighbor’s old form
Ask management for the names and addresses it wants on the vendor paperwork, its submission channel and who approves the file. A screenshot from a prior move may belong to another company or an older management arrangement. Keep the original instructions attached to the request so nobody has to reconstruct legal names from an informal message.
Make elevator access a separate line on the plan
If the building requires a service elevator, ask whether it must be reserved for both arrival and departure. Identify the loading entrance and the route to the apartment. An elevator booking is not permission to leave a vehicle at the curb, and permission to enter the lobby is not permission to enter the home. Put each answer beside its responsible contact.
Keep the cleaning window inside the approved window
Ask whether setup, equipment removal and the final lockup must all fit within the building’s permitted hours. Share any quiet-work limitations before the scope is priced. If management has not approved the documents, ask the provider to review a different date; do not describe an unapproved appointment as confirmed. This is general organizational information, not advice about insurance coverage or a building’s legal obligations.

Published scope and the limits of this guide
The published JAS scope says: “Request a one-time or recurring clean for the rooms you use every day. Kitchen, bathroom, floor and reachable-surface priorities help define a realistic first visit.” — Read the source service page
A vendor packet does not establish insurance coverage, building approval or a guaranteed arrival. Confirm the actual apartment scope and access arrangement in writing; this guide does not promise that a particular certificate or work window will be accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Does every NYC building require the same COI?
Do not assume that. Obtain the current requirements from your own management office and let the provider’s insurance professional address the requested coverage language.
Can I reserve the elevator before the paperwork is approved?
Ask management whether a provisional reservation is possible. Mark it as provisional until the person who controls the schedule confirms it.
What if the superintendent is unavailable on arrival?
Arrange an authorized backup contact in advance. Do not substitute tailgating through a secured door for an approved access plan.
