Accessibility

A site for everyone.

JAS Cleaning is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Here's what we've built, where we're still improving, and how to reach us if you hit a barrier.

TARGET STANDARD: WCAG 2.2 A/AA ·CURRENT EVIDENCE: automated build checks, static route smoke tests, and browser keyboard/axe smoke coverage for core public pages
Current status

Accessibility work is active and evidence-tracked

The public site now ships automated guards for route landmarks, keyboard smoke coverage, CleanCheck demo semantics, and unsupported accessibility-claim copy. We do not claim full conformance until a dated manual audit package is published.

Our commitment

A cleaning service is a trust business. People with disabilities — vision, hearing, motor, cognitive — deserve the same trust, the same proof, and the same easy booking flow as anyone else. We treat accessibility as a feature, not a checkbox, and track it continuously in CI and review high-risk flows before launch.

What we've built

Visual

  • Design tokens define high-contrast foreground/background pairs and visible focus treatment for public pages
  • Automated browser checks guard serious/critical axe regressions on core public pages
  • No color-only conveyance — every status pill has text + a dot + a label
  • Visible focus rings on every interactive element
  • Respects prefers-reduced-motion — animations disabled if you've set that in OS settings
  • Supports 200% browser zoom without horizontal scroll

Keyboard + screen reader

  • Core public pages have keyboard smoke coverage for focus entry, landmarks, and key interactive demo controls
  • "Skip to content" link as the first focusable element on every page
  • Semantic HTML — heading hierarchy, landmarks, lists, form labels
  • ARIA attributes where needed: live regions, expanded states, dialog roles
  • Forms have visible labels (not placeholder-only)
  • Error messages are programmatically associated with their fields

Language

  • Full bilingual support EN/ES. The page <html lang> updates on toggle so screen readers pronounce correctly
  • Phone is available 10am–5pm in both languages — sometimes a real person is the most accessible interface

Photos + media

  • Decorative photos use aria-hidden="true" so screen readers don't announce them
  • CleanCheck Report photos will have descriptive alt text (e.g., "Kitchen counter, after cleaning, no crumbs visible") once real photos replace the gradient placeholders currently in use

What we're still working on

In progress

CleanCheck example report controls — live accessibility hardening

The example report now uses native buttons, labelled fields, dialog semantics, and keyboard-adjustable before/after sliders. We continue to expand manual assistive-technology review as real token-scoped reports replace the example data.

In progress

PM Portal comparison tables — screen reader navigation

Property + booking tables in the PM Portal need proper row/column header associations for screen readers. Target fix: 2026-06-30.

Automated checks in this build

  • Static export route checks for page landmarks, skip links, and internal navigation integrity
  • Playwright browser smoke coverage for core public routes, keyboard focus entry, and serious/critical axe regressions
  • Content guards that fail the build when public accessibility claims exceed the evidence committed in the repository
