What Steiner Ranch brings
Developer Al Hughes bought this land from the Steiner family in the late 1980s and the community filled in through the 1990s: 5,719 housing units spread over a 4,600-acre limestone ridge at 784 feet — about 1.24 homes per acre — inside a large bend of the Colorado River between Lake Travis and Lake Austin. Two lakes' worth of boat season tracks grit and lake water indoors, while the ridge itself supplies Ashe juniper pollen from December to February, live-oak drop in spring, and caliche dust off every dry hillside.
