What Sheridan brings
Named for Civil War general Philip Sheridan, this riverfront pocket runs north from Broadway Street NE along the Mississippi's east bank, and parts of it lay within St. Anthony before that town merged with Minneapolis in 1872. Its single- and multi-family homes went up between the 1890s and 1930s for mill, rail and brewery workers, with narrow lots, original woodwork and radiator heat, beside the Grain Belt brewhouse on Marshall Street, built in 1891-92, idle after brewing stopped in 1975 and reopened as offices in 2002.
