What Hollywood Park brings
Residents voted this town into existence on paper ballots in a garage in October 1955, incorporating that December, and the town still describes most of its land as private residential property with large lots and an abundance of trees — 1,368 housing units on 1.45 square miles, roughly two-thirds of an acre apiece. The town dates its build-out to the first house on Sequoia, put up in 1951, so the stock runs mid-century and later under heavy canopy, where spring live-oak catkins, mid-December-to-March Ashe juniper pollen and hard-water scale on original glass and tile are the standing load.
The town's own roster puts its business district in four groupings — Sonterra Office Park on North Loop 1604 East, The Sterling Center on Sterling Browning Road, and North Park Business Park and Galleria Oaks Shopping Center on San Pedro Avenue — with further offices on Pantheon Way and Chula Vista Drive. Chicago Title Company and PAX Financial Group hold offices in Sonterra Office Park, the Texas Trophy Hunters Association is in The Sterling Center, BCFS Health & Human Services and Spectrum are in North Park Business Park at 17319 San Pedro, and Canon Solutions America is at 17115 San Pedro, while Texas Roadhouse, Chester's Hamburgers, Brookdale of Hollywood Park and a long run of auto-service shops line the San Pedro frontage.
