Treat a separate storage locker as its own line in the move-out plan. Confirm which belongings must leave, who can open it, and whether any cleaning there is requested and accepted. An empty apartment does not tell the provider that a locker elsewhere in the building still needs attention.
That’s what the walkthrough actually looks for. If you’d rather not do it during the week you are moving, send us the address and the move-out date and we’ll come back with a price.
Identify the correct space before sorting
Record the locker identifier, its location, and the person authorized to confirm its contents. Do not rely on a photograph of several similar doors. If there is uncertainty about which space belongs to the household, resolve that with the appropriate property contact before opening or removing anything. Keep the locker inventory separate from the apartment's room list so it stays visible after the furniture leaves.
Separate emptying from cleaning
Decide which items move with you, which await another recipient, and which are proposed for haul-away. Request removal separately if needed, then describe the accessible surfaces you want cleaned. A storage locker may have limited lighting, shared boundaries, or restricted entry; disclose those actual conditions and ask the provider to assess the request. Do not assume the apartment cleaning includes another space just because both share a lease or address.
Close the locker handoff explicitly
Confirm who will inspect the space, retain or remove any lock as authorized, and return relevant access items. Record belongings intentionally left in place and surfaces excluded from the cleaning request. If the locker remains unresolved while the apartment is finished, keep that status visible in your own moving checklist. Ask the property contact about its handoff requirements rather than using the cleaner's departure as proof that every associated space has been returned.

Frequently asked questions
Is locker cleaning automatically included?
Describe it explicitly and obtain acceptance of the scope. A separate location, access arrangement, and condition should be assessed rather than assumed to fit the apartment request.
Should I leave the locker unlocked?
Agree on authorized access with the property contact and provider. Do not leave belongings or shared spaces unsecured as an improvised solution to a missing key.
What if another person's boxes are inside?
Keep them outside removal instructions until ownership and authorization are resolved. Cleaning personnel should not decide who may discard someone else's stored belongings.
