What Fulshear brings
On Brazos River bottomland soils at the FM 359 and FM 1093 crossroads, Fulshear traces back to Churchill Fulshear Sr.'s 1824 Old Three Hundred land grant and a townsite that formed around the railroad in the 1890s, yet almost everything standing is new: 1,134 residents in 2010 became 16,856 in 2020, growth of 1,386%. Construction is still under way at Cross Creek West, next to a built-out Cross Creek Ranch that no longer offers new homes for sale, leaving fine build dust in brand-new houses, while a 296-day growing season, oak and pecan pollen and Gulf humidity keep that load running year-round.
Business is still mostly rooftop-serving: neighborhood retail and professional offices along FM 1093 and around the old downtown at FM 359, plus the school campuses that arrive with each community — Fulshear High School, Leaman Junior High and Huggins Elementary in Lamar Consolidated ISD, along with Katy ISD campuses such as Jordan High School.
