Should you hire cleaners before moving into a new house?

In most cases, yes — and the reason is the calendar, not the dirt. The stretch when the home sits empty, between the previous occupant’s exit and your furniture arriving, is the only time every cabinet interior, drawer, closet shelf and baseboard is reachable at once. That window does not come back until your next move.

National aggregators answer this one with pros-and-cons lists. The honest version is simpler: the decision turns on two things — whether anyone verified that home’s interiors, and whether you can still reach them. Here it is piece by piece, with the published figures and their sources.

What you actually saw at the walkthrough

You did not live in that house while it got dirty, and that is what makes this purchase different from any other cleaning you buy: you are deciding on someone else’s information. If the seller or the previous tenant paid for a move-out clean, it was aimed at their final walkthrough, to a scope you never saw. Unless you opened the cabinets, the oven and the refrigerator on your tour, the state of the interiors is an unknown — not an accusation of anyone, just something you cannot verify from the hallway.

That is why the service exists under its own name. The move-out cleaning in Miami page defines it plainly: the same 38-item checklist as a move-out clean, “scheduled between the previous occupant’s exit and your arrival, so cabinets, appliances, and bathrooms are clean before you unpack a single box.” Eligible completed visits include a CleanCheck photo report — a dated record of the empty property’s condition, made before anything of yours goes in.

Before the furniture, not after

The other half of the question — “do I clean before or after the furniture goes in?” — has a published answer: before. In the service page’s own words, “empty is best”: with the unit cleared the team can reach inside every cabinet and drawer, around appliances where safely accessible, and along every baseboard without working around boxes. The day the sofa touches the wall, the baseboard behind it retires from the map until your next move.

Already moved the furniture in? It still works — the same page publishes the answer: the team works around the furniture and cleans what is safely accessible, with empty interiors included when reachable. But work blocked by furniture is priced separately or out of reach, so the same service buys you less house. The empty window is not a luxury; it is when the published price buys the most.

“The week the house sits empty is the only week everything is reachable. You cannot buy that window back later — you schedule it or you lose it.”

What it costs — briefly, because the table lives elsewhere

Move-in cleaning uses the same published table as move-out: from $450 at 1 bedroom and 1 bath (about 4 hours) up to $750 at 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, run as a 5–7 hour visit by a 2–3 person team across 38 items with a full photo archive PDF. Refrigerator and oven interiors are priced separately — $65 each, $115 as a bundle — and interior windows from $10 per pane. The canonical source is the service page; the full breakdown of why a move-in usually lands on the starting row is in how much move-in cleaning costs.

When skipping is the honest call

A cleaning company that says you always need to pay for a cleaning is not being honest with you. There are three clear cases where you do not. If you opened everything on the tour — cabinets, drawers, oven, refrigerator — and were satisfied, you already did the verification this service exists to solve. If the landlord documented a professional turnover clean and the unit stayed sealed since, the work is already done. And if the home genuinely needs only floors and a surface wipe-down, that is an afternoon of your own with a mop: the professional price earns itself on interiors and buildup, not on sweeping.

Two scope clarifications. A brand-new build or fresh renovation is not a move-in clean: fine construction dust calls for post-construction cleaning, a separate service starting at $650 for the first 1,000 sq ft. And if you are also leaving a rental behind, that end of the move is its own question — with a deposit riding on it — and lives in how to clean to get your full security deposit back.

Booking it in Miami: the end of the month rules

Local logistics matter more here than in most cities. The service page publishes two scheduling facts: booking needs at least 24–48 hours of lead time, and end-of-month dates fill first because most leases turn over then — exactly the days you are moving too. In Brickell and Miami Beach towers the building adds its own layer: most condo associations require a reserved freight elevator, so the clean gets scheduled into the gap between your movers leaving and your arrival. The play is simple: book the clean as soon as your move date is set, not once the keys are in your hand.

And because closing and handover dates slip, it is worth knowing what the Terms say: nothing is charged at booking, we invoice after each completed visit, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before — inside 24 hours it is $25. If plans shift, the published answer is to reschedule the visit, not to lose it.

Quick answers

Is a move-in clean worth it if the house already looks clean?

A clean-looking house is clean at eye level. What you usually could not check at the walkthrough is the inside of cabinets, drawers, the oven and the refrigerator — and those interiors are exactly what a move-in clean covers while they are still empty and reachable. If you did open all of them and liked what you saw, skipping is a reasonable call.

Should the house be cleaned before or after the furniture arrives?

Before. The service page says it plainly: empty is best, because with the unit cleared the team can reach inside every cabinet and drawer and along every baseboard without working around boxes. A furnished home can still be cleaned — the team works around the furniture and cleans what is safely accessible — but work blocked by furniture is priced separately or out of reach.

What does a move-in clean cost in Miami?

It is the same 38-item service as a move-out clean, on the same published table: from $450 for one bedroom and one bath up to $750 at four bedrooms and three baths. Refrigerator and oven interiors are priced separately — $65 each, or $115 as a bundle — and you see your exact quote in the booking flow before you confirm.

My closing date just moved. What happens to the booking?

Nothing is charged at booking — the invoice comes after each completed visit — and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the visit; inside 24 hours it is $25. Moving timelines slip, which is why the published answer for shifted plans is simply to reschedule the visit.

We are moving into new construction. Is it the same service?

No — a just-finished build or renovation is post-construction cleaning, a separate service starting at $650 for the first 1,000 sq ft, because fine construction dust settles into tracks, vents and fixtures that a move-in checklist is not scoped for.

The short version

Hire the clean if the interiors were never verified by you — and do it while the house is still empty, because that window is what makes the published price work hardest: from $450 on the same table as a move-out clean. Skip it if you checked everything on the tour or only floors need doing. A just-finished build is a different service, and in Miami you book the date before you book the truck: the end of the month fills first.
