What Hyde Park brings
Monroe Martin Shipe platted Hyde Park in 1891 as Austin's first suburb, and the district he laid out — roughly 138.5 acres, listed on the National Register in 1990 — still runs on Queen Anne Victorians, Tudor Revival cottages and Craftsman bungalows built mostly between the late 1890s and 1935.
