Do cleaners clean inside the refrigerator and oven?

J
JAS Cleaning
FROM THE OPERATING PLAYBOOK · ES / EN

No — a standard house clean does not include the inside of the refrigerator or the inside of the oven. At JAS they are add-ons you select when you book: an empty refrigerator is $49, a refrigerator with food is $69, and the inside of the oven is $49 — the booking menu’s own rows; the add-on catalog lives on our services page. None of that is unusual — almost no cleaning company includes them. What’s unusual is publishing the prices.

Why they’re add-ons — here and almost everywhere

A residential clean is a maintenance routine priced for pace — kitchen and baths, floors, dust, surfaces — starting at $189 for a 2–3 hour visit with a 2-person team. An oven is a different class of work: it’s degreasing, and degreaser needs dwell time on baked-on carbon before anyone can wipe it away. A refrigerator is shelf-by-shelf work — everything out, glass out, drawers, door gaskets. Neither fits inside a visit priced for surfaces.

That’s why the whole industry treats them as separate line items, and so do we. The difference is that our line items carry published prices instead of “ask your cleaner.” Full honesty requires the other half too: even the microwave follows the same rule — on a standard clean it’s a $25 add-on, and it’s the deep clean and the move-out clean that include it at no extra charge.

The published prices

Here are the numbers exactly as they appear on the services page:

The same published list carries more add-ons — interior windows, laundry, inside cabinets. We’ve published the full breakdown, with what each one covers, in how much add-ons cost: oven, fridge, windows, and laundry.

Doesn’t a deep clean or a move-out clean include them?

No — and we say so on each page rather than burying it in fine print. The deep clean — starting at $349, 42 items verified by photo — covers everything a residential clean does plus the build-up that grows between cleans, and its own published checklist says it plainly: appliance interiors and windows, priced separately. The move-out clean — starting at $409 — is an empty-property reset: empty cabinet, drawer, and closet interiors are included, but the refrigerator, oven, and window services are quoted separately, with the $89 bundle waiting for you. And since a move-out home is empty by definition, the fridge qualifies for the empty rate — the $69 with-food rate exists for lived-in homes.

The logic is simple: someone who almost never turns their oven on shouldn’t subsidize it in the base price of every visit. A published-price add-on lets each home pay for exactly the work its kitchen needs — and nothing else.

If you’d rather do it yourself

Neither job requires a professional — they require time. We’ve published our full workshop methods: how to clean an oven with baking soda, overnight, and how to clean your refrigerator without losing a Saturday. If you want the checklist result with none of the elbow grease, that’s what the add-ons are for.

FAQ

Do I need to empty the refrigerator before the team arrives?

You don’t have to — that’s what the two published prices are for. An empty refrigerator books at $49; a refrigerator with food books at $69, because working shelf by shelf around groceries takes longer. If you can clear it out the night before, you book the $49 version and the team gets a straight run at every surface.

Is the inside of the microwave an add-on too?

It depends on the service. On a standard clean, yes — the inside of the microwave is a $25 add-on, same as the other appliance interiors. The deep clean and the move-out clean both include it at no extra charge.

How do I add the oven or refrigerator to my booking?

In the booking flow, after you pick your service and home size, the add-ons step lists them by name — select the ones you want and the price on screen updates before you confirm anything. No phone call needed, though you’re welcome to call or text (954) 378-8325 if you’d rather talk it through.
