What Alamo Heights brings
Voted into its own municipality in 1922 and already at a population peak near 8,000 by 1950, this 1.84-square-mile city at 801 feet is landlocked between San Antonio and two other incorporated cities — Olmos Park on the west and Terrell Hills on the east — with San Antonio's Lincoln Heights to the north and Brackenridge Park and Fort Sam Houston to the south, so the housing stock dates overwhelmingly to the build-out between the 1920s and mid-century. Original glazing, tile and plumbing fixtures record every mineral ring the 15-to-20-grain Edwards and Trinity Aquifer supply leaves, and Ashe juniper pollen from mid-December into early March followed by live-oak catkins in March and April keeps fine debris moving through the long dry summer.
Broadway is the commercial spine: an H-E-B supermarket, independent restaurants and shops including Cappy's Restaurant, Paloma Blanca and Bird Bakery, banks and boutiques strung between them, and Alamo Heights ISD's high school on Broadway with Cambridge Elementary just off it on Townsend Avenue.
Office, building or storefront? Commercial cleaning covers those, with a free walkthrough and a price in writing.
